Thembelisha Completes Second Leg of Earth Hour Challenge

Thembelisha Preparatory School’s Grade 7 class  completed their second leg of the Hlane’s IWIYW Earth Hour Challenge.

Having completed the first leg of the challenge , Thembelisha’s Grade 7 class completed the second leg of Hlane’s Earth Hour Challenge by picking up roadside litter after the annual Simunye Fun Fair festival.   See video above.

Earlier on this year on Earth Hour,  Hlane Royal National Park  went beyond the hour by challenging Thembelisha Preparatory School’s Grade 7 class to a roadside cleanup of the Hlane part of the MR3 Simunye Road, once every term for 2012 Earth Hour’s I Will If You Will Campaign. In return, Hlane will sponsor a free educational at the park for the class as well as an impala on the spit for their year-end function.

Thembelisha is left with 1 more roadside pick up after having embarked on this one after one of the country’s biggest annual festivals held at Simunye. The Grade 7 class of 58 and their teachers picked up litter along the MR3 that falls within Hlane Royal National Park. See more video’s below.

The IWIYW Challenge is Earth Hour’s 2012 theme where individuals and organisations dared people to do something about climate change and they pledged to do something in return.
